KIMRA Rising Star Award in partnership with the City Legal Information Group (CLIG)

Posted Thursday, 23rd April 2026 by Tim Coppen

About the Award

The KIMRA Rising Star Award recognises an emerging talent in the knowledge, information management, research and analysis profession who shows exceptional promise, curiosity, and commitment to the field. Offered in partnership with the City Legal Information Group, the award celebrates the next generation of KIMRA professionals and supports their continued development.

The Bursary

The winner receives a fully funded place at the KIMRA Conference, covering the delegate fee and, where applicable, reasonable travel and accommodation costs. This is an opportunity to engage with senior leaders across the profession, access cutting-edge content on AI and knowledge strategy, and become part of the KIMRA community.

Who Should Apply

The award is open to individuals in the early stages of their career in knowledge, information management, legal research, or analysis — typically within their first five years in a professional role. Candidates may work in law firms, legal publishers, financial institutions, or other professional services environments.

What We're Looking For

Nominees should demonstrate enthusiasm for the profession, an eagerness to develop their skills, and ideally evidence of a contribution — however early — to their team or organisation. This might include a project they've led, an initiative they've championed, or simply a compelling account of where they're headed and why.

What We Ask of the Winner

In the spirit of giving back to the profession, the award winner will be invited to contribute a short reflective piece to the post-conference write-up. This doesn't need to be lengthy or formal — we're simply looking for a personal account of what the day meant to you: the sessions that stood out, the conversations that sparked something, and the ideas you're taking back to your work. It's a chance to have your voice heard at the start of your career, and to help others in the profession understand what KIMRA looks like through fresh eyes.

How to Nominate

Candidates may self-nominate or be put forward by a manager or colleague. Nominations should include a short personal statement and, where applicable, a supporting note from a nominator. Please send nominations to contact@kimraconference.com entries will be reviewed and decided on the 14th May.

Closing date for applications

Only applications submitted by Wednesday 13th May would be considered.
