BIALL 2010 Conference Bursaries
Invitation for Applications
Risks and Opportunities: Managing information in difficult times
10 - 12 June 2010, Brighton
CLIG is please to offer assistance to one member towards the cost of attending the 2010 BIALL
Conference.
The bursary will cover the ‘early bird’* conference fees and may also contribute towards travel and
accommodation costs.
The CLIG Committee will also consider applications for assistance with Day Delegate places - in
these instances, accommodation and conference dinners will not be reimbursed.
If you would like to be considered for the full bursary, or apply for a Day Delegate place, please
complete the application form and attach a document of no more than 500 words in support of your
application detailing the following:
• Why you would like to attend the BIALL Conference
• How attendance would benefit your professional development
• The contribution (if any) your employer will be making towards your attending the
conference
• Your involvement with CLIG to date, such as seminars attended and / or committee posts
held
A condition of accepting the bursary is that you write a piece of no more than 1,000 words on the
conference for the CLIG website.

The closing date for applications is 16th April 2010
The successful applicant will be chosen by majority vote of the CLIG committee. All applicants will
be contacted by 23rd April 2010 to confirm whether or not their application was successful.
*To qualify for early bird booking rates, an application must be made by 30th April 2010. The bursary
does not cover the costs of the pre-conference seminar.
