Researching US case law
Tuesday, 9th June 2015 at 5:30pm till 9:00pm
Need an introduction to or refresher on how to research US case law? If so, help is at hand. CLIG are delighted to welcome Alison Shea, Foreign and International Specialist at the Fordham University School of Law in New York to present a seminar on this topic.
The seminar will include an explanation of the US Court systems and the system of law reports. Alison will then provide guidance on the coverage of different subscription and free case law sources – to give researchers guidance on how thorough their research can be with their existing sources. Alison will also provide guidance on updating cases, as well as tips for tracking pending cases in both federal and state courts.
